Elon Musk shows off SpaceX spacesuits

Rocket man After successful rocket launches, SpaceX is moving forward with its plan to send astronauts past the horizon. It's latest step: spacesuits. Elon Musk posted to Instagram more than just a rendering of these outfits, but what he says is an actual spacesuit. The white and black suit has been "tested to double vacuum pressure," writes Musk, SpaceX founder and CEO. He added that it was difficult to balance the look of the suit with the functions it needed to perform.

SpaceX is just one private company that plans to launch vehicles into space in tandem with NASA. Boeing is another, which recently revealed its bright blue spacesuits back in January meant to be worn by astronauts traveling into low-orbit, including the International Space Station (ISS).

Musk too will be putting astronauts into the new SpaceX spacesuits which will also be for sending people up to the ISS aboard Dragon, a reusable spacecraft that has already successfully launched to the ISS, and returned. A crewed launch, with astronauts, is next, set for 2018.

Smart sprinkler Fall may be just around the corner, but our lawns are still feeling the heat of summer. A smart sprinkler device is something that can ensure grounds stay green and hydrated without having to trot out a hose, or have to remember to set the sprinkler timer. Our recent review of the Orbit B-hyve takes a look at how well the Wi-Fi device fares, including its ability to talk with Amazon Alexa.
