Hands-On Review: DESLOC D110 Plus Smart Lock
The DESLOC D110 Plus Smart Lock is one of the newest entries in the growing smart lock market, and after hands-on testing, it’s clear this device offers both convenience and a few areas for improvement. Designed to combine modern biometric security, a built-in management display, and Wi-Fi connectivity without the need for a hub, the D110 Plus is aimed at homeowners who want smart access control without complexity.
Installation Experience
Out of the box, installation is generally straightforward, but we ran into two notable issues. First, the internal connection cord between the front and back panels is a little short, which makes it tricky to get a snug fit on the backside of the lock. It can also be somewhat awkward to plug in. A small recessed section for tucking in the cord would help streamline this process.
Second, we discovered that securing the lock too tightly to the door can cause problems with the deadbolt closing properly. If the lock is over-tightened, the mechanism may struggle to slide the bolt smoothly. To avoid this, we recommend skipping the power drill and instead using a standard Phillips-head screwdriver when tightening the lock during installation. This prevents over-torque and ensures smooth operation of the deadbolt.
That said, once properly installed, the lock feels sturdy yet lightweight, with an IP54 rating for resistance against dust and splashes.
Smart Features That Stand Out
The D110 Plus includes multiple entry methods, giving you peace of mind if your phone dies or Wi-Fi goes down. You can unlock with fingerprints (up to 50 saved profiles), a touchscreen PIN code, a IC card, or a physical backup key. Having so many fallback options is a big plus for families and busy households.
But the standout feature is the LockVue Display. Unlike most smart locks that require a phone app for troubleshooting or management, the D110 Plus has a built-in display that shows status updates (battery, connectivity, door position, lock modes) and allows for quick settings adjustments. During setup, the display proved extremely helpful, giving direct alerts when connectivity issues occurred. While the display is fairly basic, it’s a genuine differentiator in the market.
Security and Access Management
Fingerprint recognition is powered by FlashPrint Algorithm, which unlocked the door in under 0.3 seconds during testing. The lock is also BHMA Grade 3-certified, providing a recognized standard of security for residential use. FingerShield technology ensures biometric data remains encrypted and safe.
Through the DESLOC app, assigning access to family members was impressively simple and intuitive — something even novice users will appreciate. Access can also be shared via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, and we found pairing with both voice assistants to be fast and seamless.
The lock also offers multiple operation modes:
- Passage Mode – keeps the door unlocked during gatherings.
- Vacation Mode – limits access to “Always” and “One-Pass” users while logging other attempts as alarms.
- Night Mode – activates a backlit keypad and silent operation for discreet late-night entries.
The anti-peeping passcode feature works similarly to Lockly’s smart locks, allowing users to add random digits before or after their passcode. This prevents onlookers from guessing PINs — particularly useful in high-traffic areas.
Connectivity and Compatibility
One of the best aspects of the D110 Plus is that it connects directly to Wi-Fi — no hub required. This makes setup much easier and more affordable for those building a DIY smart home. However, its ecosystem compatibility has limits. The lock works smoothly with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, but does not integrate with popular video doorbells like Ring unless routed through Alexa/Google, and it is not compatible with leading smart security systems such as SimpliSafe, Vivint, or ADT. For those households, a different model may be more suitable.
Price and Value
The DESLOC D110 Plus Smart Lock is available in Black and Silver finishes, retailing at $129.99. However, as of August 18th, it is being offered at a special launch discount of $89.99 until September 17th. At this price point, given its built-in display, fast fingerprint scanner, and direct Wi-Fi connectivity, it represents strong value for those looking for an accessible, feature-rich smart lock.
Summary
The DESLOC D110 Plus Smart Lock is a strong contender in the budget smart lock category, offering a thoughtful mix of features like the LockVue Display, quick fingerprint recognition, and easy access management through its app. Its built-in Wi-Fi and direct compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant make it especially appealing for those who are building a DIY smart home security systemcentered on these voice platforms.
This lock also stands out as a practical choice for renters and Airbnb owners, thanks to its simple installation, flexible access options, and intuitive management of temporary users. However, it’s important to note that the D110 Plus isn’t designed for people who want a lock that integrates deeply with existing smart home security ecosystems like SimpliSafe, Vivint, or ADT.
If your priority is flexibility, ease of use, and affordability — without the need for hubs or complex integrations — the DESLOC D110 Plus Smart Lock is an excellent choice that delivers peace of mind and reliable everyday performance.
