WUBEN E2 Pulse Review: More Than a Keychain Flashlight

Keychain flashlights usually follow a familiar recipe: make them small, give them one LED, add a button, and call it a day. The WUBEN E2 Pulse takes a different route.

At just 41.4mm long and 10.7g, it's genuinely tiny, but it packs three lighting systems: a forward-facing white beam, high-CRI side lights, and red/blue signal lighting. Add a magnetic tail, USB-C charging, and a body that glows after dark, and this little light starts feeling less like a keychain accessory and more like a miniature EDC tool.

After looking closely at what it offers, here's our WUBEN E2 Pulse Review: More Than a Keychain Flashlight.

Tiny Size, Surprisingly Useful Design

The first thing you'll notice about the E2 isn't its output. It's how little space it takes up.

Measuring 19 × 14.6 × 41.4mm, the E2 fits on your keys, disappears into a coin pocket, or attaches to a necklace with the optional accessory. At 10.7g with the battery, you'll barely notice it's there.

The body uses PC with an aluminum-alloy bezel and a textured gradient finish. More interestingly, the shell glows in the dark. After absorbing light, it gives off a soft green glow, making the E2 much easier to spot beside your bed or inside a dark bag.

A gimmick? Maybe a little. Useful? Absolutely.

Three Lights in One Tiny Package

Here's where the E2 gets interesting.

Main Light: Up to 150 Lumens

The forward-facing W3535 5000K LED offers multiple brightness levels and reaches up to 150 lumens, with a maximum beam distance of 26 meters.

That's not search-and-rescue territory, obviously. But for finding dropped keys, walking to the car, checking a dark hallway, or navigating around camp, it's plenty for something this small.

Side Light: Better for Close-Up Tasks

Two custom COB LEDs provide a 5000K, CRI 90 side light with 80-lumen and 10-lumen settings.

The broad illumination works nicely when you don't want a concentrated beam. Stick the magnetic tail to a suitable metal surface, and the E2 becomes a tiny hands-free work light.

There's also a heartbeat breathing mode, where the side light rhythmically fades in and out. It's not essential illumination, but it gives the E2 a bit of character that most keychain lights simply don't have.

Red and Blue Signal Lights

The third system adds a red beacon and alternating red/blue flashing modes.

Rather than everyday illumination, these are intended for visibility, signaling, or warning situations. It's another example of WUBEN squeezing an unusual amount of functionality into a 10.7g package.

USB-C Charging Makes Sense

Nobody wants another proprietary charging cable floating around the house.

The E2 uses USB-C charging for its built-in 120mAh Li-ion battery. That battery is understandably small, but that's the trade-off for making a flashlight light enough to hang around your neck.

It also features mode memory, so you don't necessarily have to start from scratch every time you switch it on.
