Want access to Amazon’s Black Friday deals before anyone else? Ask Alexa

Amazon has announced that Alexa can be used to access Black Friday deals before they hit the retail giant's website.

As in previous years, shoppers are encouraged to ask Alexa about deals and discounts, then complete their purchase by speaking to the voice assistant instead of visiting the website.

These Alexa deals go live on November 18, well ahead of Black Friday which this year falls on November 23

How to get Black Friday deals with Alexa

Just say "Alexa, what are my deals?" and the assistant will start reading out some options to entice you. These are limited to just a handful of Amazon's own products for now, but we're hoping to see more between now and the 18th (and 23rd).

Alexa's Black Friday deals include:

Amazon will no doubt be hoping these exclusive Alexa deals encourage customers to voice shop more often, as for now very few people actually use the feature. According to a report from August this year, just two percent of the 50 million Alexa smart speaker owners have used voice shopping, and 90 percent of those only used it once.

It was claimed that, because so few people are shopping with Alexa, Amazon is having trouble identifying patterns that would help it encourage more people to buy goods with voice commands.
