Alexa learns some party games as Amazon Echo Buttons go on sale


Amazon promised more fun from Alexa this Christmas, and now it looks set to deliver as the company's new Echo Buttons open for pre-order.

To be delivered from December 19 if ordered today, Echo Buttons are the first of what Amazon describes as 'Alexa Gadgets', and are available exclusively in the US for now.

Pairing with your Amazon Echo smart speaker and its Alexa personal assistant, the buttons each have a colored light and can be pressed to interact with games organized by Alexa.

Up to four AA battery-powered buttons can be used with one Echo speaker and Amazon sells them in packs of two for $19.99. Once paired, you can say: "Alexa, what games can I play with my Echo Buttons?" and she will come up with some suggestions.

Games include Beat the Intro, where you press a button to guess the name of a song played by Alexa. Other games include Button Monte, Sounds Fun with Mike Epps, and Fourth Down Football Trivia with Philip Rivers.
