How To Set Up The Roku 4

Setting up the Roku 4 is not difficult, especially once you get to the on-screen menus, which guide most of the process. Note: you will need a computer, tablet or smartphone to activate it before you can start streaming.

.) Skip this step if you will use Wi-Fi to stream to the Roku 4.For wired connections, first plug an ethernet (Internet) cord into the back of the Roku 4 if you are opting for a wired connection.

.) Connect an HDMI cable to the port on the back of the Roku 4, and then into an available port on your TV or AV receiver.

.) Connect the power adapter to the back of the Roku 4, and then plug it into a power outlet.

.) Insert the AA batteries into the back of the remote, both with the negative (flat) end on the bottom of the remote, close to the purple Roku tag.

.) Switch to the HDMI input that the Roku is connected to. You should see a “Language" select screen, and a box will shortly pop up to pair your remote.

.) Press the PAIR button on the bottom of the remote for three seconds. Once you see that the remote has been found and paired, select your language and whether you are using a wired or wireless connection.

.) Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the Internet – enter your Wi-Fi username and password. The Roku 4 will check for software updates, and then restart on its own.

.) Once the Roku 4 restarts, go to www.roku.com/link on your computer, tablet or smartphone and enter the 5-digit code that appears.
