Kwikset is broadening the number of locks that work with the Amazon Key Home Kit platform. Meant for homeowners or renters, the locks can be controlled through the Amazon Key Home Kit App — and also through Alexa.

The new locks include the Obsidian lock, a square keyless lock, the SmartCode 916 and the SmartCode 916 Contemporary which mirrors the 916 but offers squared off edges.

All three sport the new SecureScreen technology touted by Kwikset — and featured on all of its locks — where two random numbers appear on the screen before you enter a code. The design is meant to remove the possibility of someone looking at the touch pad for fingerprints to clue them in on where you pressed, and then guessing the code.

The Amazon Key Edition locks also work with the Amazon Key app — and with Alexa. Homeowners and renters can control the device just by asking Alexa, out loud, to lock the door. Anyone using the locks who are also Amazon Prime members can also take advantage of the recently launched Amazon in-home delivery service — which allows couriers to let themselves in and make deliveries — if a home or apartment is in one of the 37 cities and areas where that service is supported.

Two locks, the Kwikset Convert and the SmartCode 914, are already part of the Kwikset Amazon Key platform. Today's add now brings that number of locks to five, any of which consumers can pick when they the Amazon Key Home Kit and the Amazon Cloud Cam, a smart home security camera.
