A unique way to light your smart home today is with strip lighting but many require a hub to connect to the Internet for controls or custom automation. Last year at IFA 2018, Eve Systems, a leading manufacturer of smart home products launched a new smart LED strip light that does not require a hub for automation or control. It's called Eve Light Strip and today the company is announcing these new smart LED Strips work with Apple HomeKit technology. The new smart light strip is 6.6 feet long and can be cut to accommodate your fittings and fixtures or you can add multiple light strips to cover up to 32.8 feet in your home.

For those of you who don't remember Eve Light Strip, it is a LED smart light strip with a full-spectrum white and color thanks to premium triple-diode architecture. The LED lights have 1800 lumens for ultra-brightness in any room in your house. But now, these smart light strips are HomeKit enabled. One of the features you get with Apple HomeKit integration is an advanced security layer as well as voice control via Apple's Siri to switch your smart light strip on/off, dim, and brighten.

Installation of these HomeKit light strips is still very easy. Using the flexible and self-adhesive: you can easily peel and stick the light strip in and around corners of the room. You can also activate preset colors and easily create your own favorite scenes to create a customized ambiance in your home. But the best part of these smart LED light strips is how easy they are to setup and operate without the need of a bridge or gateway.

Pricing & Availability

Eve Light Strip is available from the Eve Store and Amazon for USD $79.95. 6.6 ft extension strips are priced at USD $49.95. The Eve app is available for free in the App Store.

When looking for lights for your smart home, it's important to understand a product's connectivity and compatibility. There is nothing worst than buying a new connected device and bringing it home to find it will not work with the devices you have in your home. Eve Smart LED light strips can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth wireless connection and with Apple's HomeKit integration you can create your very own ecosystem by using the Eve app, but asking Siri to activate them. GearBrain is in the process of testing these new smart LED light strips and will report back on our findings. In the interim, if looking for a smart LED light strip that works with Apple HomeKit, you have to check out Eve Light Strip.
