Ottonomy - Autonomous Delivery Robots Working Inside and Out

Ottonomy delivery vehicles work inside and outside to make deliveries via autonomous robots.

Ottonomy

When we think of autonomous vehicles, we just assume they will be roaming around in the streets. But what about when they are moving around inside? How would that work and why would we want robots running around inside? Because it would help make our lives easier and business more profitable. Today, we learned about Ottonomy, a US startup providing contactless deliveries using fully autonomous robots.

Ottonomy’s system is different from all the other autonomous delivery vehicles. They don’t use cameras with a live feed to deliver your packages or dinner. Their navigation is done using 3D mapping with Lidar and then localize it to provide a safe delivery to you, whether it be in a store or the last mile (i.e. curbside). They currently are in the Cincinnati airport and will be coming to a neighborhood near you in 2022.

Today the company announced a new partnership with Presto Partners, a leading provider of restaurant labor productivity technologies. Presto customers will be able to get curbside or parking lot deliveries from Ottonomy vehicles.

John Deere – Robots on the Farm

I know it’s surprising writing about a farm equipment company who presented at CES but it was a great show. When you think about autonomous driving, farms don’t come to mind. You think of the open road and state regulations. John Deere has figured out a way to use autonomous vehicles on the farm to provide three benefits to farmers: timeless, efficiency and quality of life. Their new robot vehicles can help farmers spend more time on the things they like to do and less on the chores they don’t want to do, like sitting on a tractor for 12 hours in the field. Now the tracker can do all the planting with better precision than a farmer 24 hours a day. Their technology can help a farmer do this faster and provide accurate geospatial data insights for nearly 20 years. The autonomous tractor comes with over 300 sensors and 140 controllers and can process 15,000 measurements per second per machine. What does this translate too? A farmer will be able to plant 700 corn seeds and 2,800 soybean seeds every second. And process five to 15 million sensor measurements every second.

In the end, John Deere’s autonomous tractor will help farmers keep up with the increasing global food demand while also being able to spend time with the family. Nice move John Deere.

Much like a great album, the story behind embodies Victrola’s commitment to be more eco-friendly and the company’s mission to create lifelong music memories for everyone.

What makes Victrola’s portable record player so unique when compared to others? Victrola’s new anti-vibration speaker enclosure technology. First introduced in two CES 2022 Innovation Award Honoree products, Victrola’s dual-speaker enclosure enables delivery of enhanced sound performance while eliminating vibrations for a skip-free, bass delivering, vinyl listening experience unrivaled by previous generations of suitcase record players. Another new device was Victrola Premiere V1 Turntable Music System. This is the first of its kind to incorporate a premium turntable, powerful internal stereo speakers, and a wireless subwoofer. It's also a CES Innovation Award Honoree.
