It looks like Twitter is about to reveal a paid-for subscription called Twitter Blue and priced at $2.99 a month.
The social network has previously said how it was looking at ways to lock some features behind a paywall. Twitter Blue and its price were first spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, who shared her discovery on Twitter last night.

GearBrain has since also spotted a mention of Twitter Blue on the iOS App Store page for the Twitter app, where the monthly subscription is mentioned as a £2.49 in-app purchase (I am based in the UK).
Wong was able to go a step further and pay for Twitter Blue, which lets subscribers customize the color theme of their Twitter app. The new paid-for tier also includes a feature where users can quickly undo a tweet right after they send it, if they notice a mistake or typo, for example.
Twitter confirms “Twitter Blue", which costs $2.99 per month by publicly including such In-App Purchase on the App Store
For testing, I've become the first paying Twitter Blue customer 😅

Another feature mentioned within Twitter Blue is Reader Mode, which promises to turn tweet threads into "easy-to-read text."
Twitter is yet to officially announce the paid tier, but given it now appears as an in-app purchase in the app stores of at least two countries, we suspect the ability to subscribe to Twitter Blue will be switched on imminently.
That said, being able to change the color of the Twitter app, view tweet threads in a more efficient way, and undo tweets (which could already be deleted) aren't the most enticing features to convince users to pay $2.99 a month. The removal of adverts would be welcome, along with the much-wanted ability to edit tweets, but there is no evidence that will happen for now.
