For those of you who don't know about IFA and their global conference, it's one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in the world that has morphed into one of the largest smart home and consumers electronics show in Europe. It brings together all the major manufacturers of home appliances and consumers electronics who demo their latest products for the coming year and beyond. At IFA 2022, we were able to get a good look at some of the new technology and smart devices coming to market around the world. These devices range from a smart app which can help solve interoperability among smart appliances and HVACs system to a smart projector which can fit into your shirt pocket.

Now, it is important to note that some of these products might not hit the stores near you this year. However, someday they will and we want to make sure you know about them and how they can fit into your new connected lifestyle. Leica Cine 1 is the company’s first laser TV designed for large-scale TV and home cinema products. Using the company’s new “short-throw projector technology with a triple RGB laser and integrated TV turner, this new TV projector can provide 4k resolution on displays up to 140 inches. It has Dolby Atmos audio system with surround sound to supply a unique cinema experience. It’s great for video streamers as well as gamers and people who like to watch live-action content. Leica Cine 1 will be available in Europe starting Q2 2023.

The Honor 70 is an Android 12 smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus CPU. It comes in four different styles: Crystal Silver, Icelandic Frost, Emerald Green and Midnight Black. It has a super dual-curved screen designed to help extend your screen. The screen is a 6.67” OLED display with the new IMX800 Image Sensor to provide an incredible immersive view on your display. IMX800 Image Sensor is in one of the two cameras. The main camera is a 54MP IMX800 Super Sensing Camera and the second one is a 50MP Ultra Wide & Macro Main Camera. Both provide ultra-wide viewing angles and autofocus. But what makes this 5G smartphone so unique is its Solo Cut Mode. This feature allows you to select a person to record without moving your phone as well as provide two different videos from your recordings. Honor 70 series is available in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America. For our friends in the UK, this smartphone starts at 169.99 pounds.

It also comes with Vocal Enhancement Algorithm to help make your online meetings or Facetime calls easier for you to hear your parties’ vocals. This tablet also comes with fast charging and a long-lasting battery (7,250mAh) to provide 14. Hours of offline (or 10 hours of online) classes or calls. It’s available in Asia Pacific and Europe today and costs $249.99 pounds if in UK.

This unique -5G smartphone is one of the smallest eco-footprint smartphones on the market. It comes with a frame made of 100% recycled aluminum and a back cover with over 65% recycled plastic. It has advanced night mode as well as PureView which helps you get those ultrawide-angle shots and vibrant nighttime shots. But what makes this Android 12 smartphone unique is it’s 6.43-inch AMOLED display. It provides FHD + 1080 x 2400p video resolution and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It also has two cameras. The front camera is a 16MP camera which the back camera is 50MP with 13MP ultrawide 123-degree FOV. It does come with fast charging and a Snapdragon 695 5G CPU. No price available currently for this 5G smartphone.

Want a small video projector for your home office, workout room or maybe for the next camping trip. If so, check out the Yaber Pico Projector, a new portable plug and play projector with a touch screen for you to use to setup your viewing. It has a Smart OS which can allow you to stream your favorite videos from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and more. It also comes with a magnetic 360-degree tripod for you to mount your projector and get a 360-degree projection from any angle. It also has a USB-C port, HDM and power bank port to charge your projector when needed. This portable projector works on a Bluetooth connection as well as 2.4 GHz and 5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi network. It’s not available today but listed on Indiegogo.

Electric scooters provide a quick and easy way to get around town, but many are bulky. Imagine if there was a scooter which can fold up and place inside a duffle bag? Meet the Riley RS3 Electric Scooter. This electric scooter by Riley Scooters weighs in around 31 lbs. (14kg) and can foldup into 25.5” x 10.7” x 18.7”. The tires are 8.5 inches, and it works on 350W or 700W at peak. It can go about 15.5 miles on a single charge, and it takes about 2. Hours to fully charge. The scooter is only available in Italy for around 899 euros.

They provide superb image quality, high-efficiency options and are lightweight. They are your personal monitor that can fit into your shirt pocket.

The Lenovo Glasses T1 will be on sale in China in late 2022 and select markets in 2023. No price has been announced.

Home Connectivity Alliance App, First C2C Connectivity Solution

You might be wondering why we listed an app from a trade association as one of the Best of IFA 2022. The reason is this association, Home Connectivity Alliance has developed the first cloud-to-cloud (C2C) solution to help solve the interoperability problem with smart appliances, HVAC systems and smart televisions.

The HCA is a trade organization dedicated to developing and promoting safe use and security of smart appliances, HVAC systems and smart TVS. They showed a demo of their new C2C connectivity which will allow users to use any of their members’ apps to control all their smart appliances they have in their home from the members. For instance, imagine having one app to connect with our smart appliances by LG, Resideo smart thermostat and Samsung smart TV? Thanks to HCA and its members, this will be a reality and thus why we gave them this award. It’s another step in helping to solve interoperability among smart devices.
