Smart Air Purifiers are smart home devices that have become vital today, especially with COVID and fall allergies coming soon. What I like about these smart health devices is they let you know when the air quality in your home is terrible and do something about it. It cleans the air for you. Smart air monitors also notify you when air quality is awful, but you have to do the things to get your air quality healthier, like open a window and turn on a fan. We have been testing a smart air purifier by Dreo for the past few months and really like how this smart device performs. It kept our air clean and updated us on our air purifier's filter life. Smart Home Integrations

Dreo's Macro Max S smart air purifier works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice platforms. Using the Dreo app, users can easily set up these integrations, allowing them to control the air purifier with voice commands, like "Hey Alexa, turn on Dreo Air Filter" or Hey Google, Set Dreo Air Filter to Manual mode. The voice commands are rather basic but will come in handy when your hands are full, or you want to turn on your Dreo air purifier when away from home. A little tip: If you plan to use voice commands with either of these voice platforms, make sure the name of your Dreo air purifier is easy to say and easy for Alexa or Google Assistant to understand the name you are saying.

How much does the Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier Cost?

This Dreo smart air purifier has an MSRP of $239.99 but is currently listed at $219.99 on the company's site and Amazon. It is relatively lightweight, weighs only 11.89 lbs., and comes with a 3-in-1 H13 True HEPA Filter, user manual, and Quick Start Guide. It is also FCC and ETL certified.

Is the Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier cost high or low? Based on our testing of many smart air purifiers, the cost for a smart air purifier that can clean the air in a room over 1,000 square feet ranges from $150 to $300. But note that many lower priced units don't come with the smart home integrations (aka Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa) or can remove 99.99% of Pet Hair Particles, Dust, Smoke, and Pollen, and have a PM2.5 Monitor. It works with an H-13 true HEPA filter. So, at $219.99, the Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier is a good deal for a smart air purifier for large rooms.

Performance

As I mentioned in the review, we have tested this smart air purifier in a real home for the past few months. I like the performance of this smart air purifier. It operates quietly and does a great job of keeping the air quality in your room clean. The smart air purifier light panel provides real-time air quality and indicator lights for various features and controls. But this light is bright. We liked how you can turn on the Adaptive Brightness in the Dreo app, which automatically will make the light go off automatically so as not to interfere with your sleeping. It's a cool little feature.

In addition, the Dreo app will allow you to turn on and off the panel sound, which will sound when air quality changes or new modes are selected. The app will enable you to activate the child lock feature, which will come in handy depending on where you place your Dreo smart air purifier. Little children will like to play with this smart air purifier because it stands about 21" tall. It's not intimidating, and with the lights, they will think of it as a new shiny object to play with in the house. Our grandchildren loved it at first, but once we put on the child lock, nothing would happen when they touched the controls on top of the air purifier. So, over time, they lost interest, which was nice.

Lastly, the Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier did its job. It cleaned and kept the air clean in our room. How do we know? My wife gets nosebleeds when the air in our room is too dusty. We haven't had any episodes with nose bleeds since we placed the Dreo Macro Max S in our room. We don't have a dog living with us, so I really comment on how effectively the air purifier removes pet hair. However, when we looked at other reviews on this device, many said the Dreo did an excellent job removing their dog odor when the fan was on Turbo mode. This is the mode the company recommends using if you want to remove dust, pollen, smoke, or pet hair particles from your air quickly.

Summary

After testing this smart air purifier, Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier, for a few months and putting it through our tests, we can say this is a reliable and effective smart air purifier that is easy to set up and will not only clean your air but help you keep track of your home's air quality 24/7 and from anywhere using their free app.

Who should buy this smart air purifier? If you own pets, like a dog or cat, and want to keep the air in your home clean, Dreo is a good solution. If you are in the market for a smart air purifier that has an H-13 True HEPA filter, easy controls, and can keep the air quality in a room ranging from 500 square feet up to 2,000 square feet, Dreo Macro Max S is an excellent option to consider buying. But suppose you want a smart air purifier to integrate with your smart home system. In that case, the Dreo Macro Max S might not be suitable for you unless you plan to use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant as your hub. Then, this is an excellent option for you to choose.

Overall, the Dreo Macro Max S Air Purifier is a good choice for those with large rooms that need to be cleaned of allergens, dust, smoke, and other pollutants at all times. It will work wonders on keeping your home's air quality good, especially if you have pets, like dogs or cats.
